Is it time we undo the deletion? edit

@Sanpitch: This article has been deleted for two years already. Is it time we re-review it? It's weird to see all creators and developers of Julia with their pages while Jeff doesn't have one. Julia has been is ascension during this time, and co-creators won the James H. Wilkinson prize. What do you think? Bruno H Vieira (talk) 17:56, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

This is even mentioned in Wiki: J. H. Wilkinson Prize for Numerical Software#2019. Bruno H Vieira (talk) 17:58, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
My impression is that Jeff is not interested in publicity or for other reasons has not had much news written directly about him. I.e. if there were one or two news articles written solely or primarily about him, it would be easier to justify a Wikipedia article about him. For more on this, see an archived discussion on the Julia talk page. BTW, the editor there seemed to think that (The Julia talk page) is the right place to discuss creating a page for Bezanson. That's fair, but he won a prize that's actually listed in Wiki and there's an article about him on the French Wiki. I also don't see the point of debating this on the Julia page since there is no section there devoted to this particular person, only passing mentions. @Bruno H Vieira: There definitely is a discussion about Bezanson in the Julia talk page; it's in the archives of the page. I linked to it above; here is the link again. The discussion there includes the Wilkinson prize; I don't see anything on the French page about him that adds to the discussion significantly. To be clear, I definitely think he deserves an article, yet it may be tough to make the case for recreating the page. I suggest you either get an article written about him in some plausible publication, or leave it alone for now. Sanpitch (talk) 02:56, 13 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
