IMO, there is no need to keep this entry, it mostly duplicates the reaction section of Belarusian presidential election, 2006. It needs to be merged there! Occuserpens 21:41, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

No merge. Duplicate content may be removed, but the article must stay precisely because people in the West are clueless with respect to the term. Also, the article may be expanded. mikka (t) 22:48, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

If you really wanna change sth, rename this article to something like "oposition movements in Belarus 2006" and change this page to a redirect. This article should look like the Orange_Revolution article, just add newses dayly. 83.24.51.78 10:12, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Why has the neutrality sign been added - it is a true facts; there is nothing there that is a lie or even vaguely untrue, is has quotes from both sides?? UKWiki 16:34, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

to revolt or not to revolt, that is the question...

Part of the objections on the deletion discussion relate to whether or not the Jeans Revolution is a real revolution or not.

Well, as pointed out on Revolution#Color_revolutions, or rather, being even more careful, it's not clear whether any of the color revolutions are genuinely revolutions, in the sense of:

• A revolution is a relatively sudden, and absolutely drastic change (a "complete turn-around"). This may be a change in the social or political institutions over a relatively short period of time, or a major change in its culture or economy. Some revolutions are led by the majority of the populace of a nation, others by a small band of revolutionaries. Compare rebellion.

That article uses the term political revolutions. So far, there has been no change in government/head of state due to the Jeans Revolution. On the other hand, 10,000 people gathering in the central square was apparently unprecedented in recent Belarus history - so it may qualify as a relatively important change in the way belarusians do politics. Anyway, to satisfy people complaining that it's not a revolution, maybe we should add something like the following to the first paragraph:

• As of late March, 2006, these efforts and aspirations had not caused a change in government of Belarus, so despite the name, they may not constitute a true revolution.
