editThis sentence seems a bit POV:
It should be noted, however, that such "archeological evidence" is itself subjective, with historical milestones (such as the domestication of horses) being attributed arbitrarily to moments in history determined by inconsistent means.
"Arbitrarily" seems unduly negative, as does putting "archaeological evidence" in quotes. Or am I wrong? 12.107.67.3 13:55, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Deborah Ross interview
editI removed this link (which was in the references section rather than External Links, even though it was not being used as a reference).
- Deborah Ross (May 6, 2002). "The clan of the cave woman: The Deborah Ross interview". The Independent (London). Retrieved 2007-06-21.
I did so because it seems to say more about the interviewer than the interviewee.
Hyoid bone importance?
editThe paragraph about the historical accuracy of the novels needs some major work. It is stated that it was previously uncertain if Neanderthals had a hyoid bone. This simply is not true - nearly every terrestrial vertebrate (snakes, lizards, birds, cattle, etc.) has a hyoid bone. It's the *form* of the hyoid bone that is important for speech, not the presence of the bone. There never was any doubt that Neanderthals had a hyoid - just the shape of the hyoid was in question.
Final book?
editHas Auel said anything about when she expects the final book to be done? Does she have a site of her own? -LisaLiel (talk) 04:45, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
The best fan site is http://ecfans.com. There is another book coming but it is not the final book. The seventh book is now expected to be the final one. Entroposity (talk) 06:14, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
