John Coltrane influence edit
I saw Javon Jackson in Cincinnati in 2012. He made it very clear that his main influence was John Coltrane. He even said that if he were to ever sleep with a man, it would be Coltrane. I thought that was a little weird, because he comes off as such a conservative guy, not to mention John Coltrane is dead. His playing is definitely Coltrane-influenced, but sharply boring, with nothing original being said. Someone should add a section on his playing style, or add that Coltrane is a major influence.
