Talk:Jasna Góra Monastery

According to legend, Our Lady of Częstochowa saved the Monastery as follows: during the Deluge, the Monastery was entered and sacked. A Swedish officer in the chapel drew his sword and struck twice at the picture, scoring two deep scars in the Madonna's right cheek. Then, depending on the legend, he reached out to touch the painting and found that the gashes had been converted to PAINTED gashes, and had a conversion on the spot, and told his troops to leave the monastery alone. The other legend says that after the second strike he dropped dead and, when it was discovered that the slashes had been transmuted to paint, the sacking of the monastery was halted.

This article needs a major expansion. Right now it mentions some minor details from 1760 but doesn't contain a single word about such pivotal events as the Lubomirski's Rokosz or the Bar Confederation

how is it in the end: bright mount or bright hill? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.0.96.15 (talk) 17:57, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Concern with "Walking pilgrimages" section edit

The section of the article on Walking pilgrimages makes me uncomfortable as it is self-referential to the monastery and the second reference is natively in Polish. Are there any credible resources in English that can support these assertions?

Sorry, neglected to sign my question above FULBERT (talk) 19:24, 1 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure what you're looking for exactly, (I expect most of the best sources to be in Polish.) but there's plenty of information about the pilgrimages in English. These are all just from the first page of a quick Google News search:[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] Cheers, -- irn (talk) 21:46, 1 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks; mainly concerned about WP:RS and some of the resources there do not fit for that. FULBERT (talk) 22:27, 1 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
