This was a good little article, nice and succinct and interesting! I have a few items to address, I'm sure it won't take long...

  • I would suggest the two photos under the "Binibining Pilipinas" section to the appropriate parts of that story. The first one, with her giving her response, should be moved to the Question and Answer section, and the other one should be moved to the paragraph that starts with "Despite the problems with her answer..."
  • Can you get a slightly better photo to replace "Janina san miguel screencap.jpg"? This photo is badly faded and discolored. It should be low resolution, but this one could use a better low resolution photo...
  • If you have a source for it, can you say how her grandmother died? It's mentioned in the lead and the Resignation section that her death was cited as a reason, but it doesn't say anywhere when or how she died...
  • "...who incidentally was born in the United States and has an American accent." This part of the sentence strikes me as a bit POVish, especially the use of the word "incidentally", because it seems to indicate that was a factor in why Danielle Castano got the title. I'm guessing this isn't the case, since it was transferred in accordance with pageant rules. WAS this a factor? If so, you should say that directly and cite it with a source. If it wasn't, I'd drop this part of the sentence, or at the very least drop the word incidentally.

Nice work! Please address each objection one-by-one and I'll strike them as we go. — Hunter Kahn (contribs) 14:28, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the comments! I'll try to get around to addressing them today. TheCoffee (talk) 03:28, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
All the issues you cited have been addressed, I think...
  • Moved the two photos to be beside their relevant paragraphs
  • Better fair use photo... it's still not a great, but this is much less blurry and discolored, and doesn't look like a screencap from youtube.
  • I checked a bunch of sources... there's a whole lot of articles reporting that she resigned due to the death of her grandfather, but I couldn't find anything that says the cause of his death. It's possible that the cause was just never announced by the family.
  • The pageant rules say the title should be transferred to the first runner up, so the "born in the United States and has an American accent" wasn't a factor in her being chose. I'll just remove that phrase.
Any other issues? :) TheCoffee (talk) 07:53, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

A good article is:

  1. Well-written: Prose is good, MOS is good.
  2. Factually accurate and verifiable: Sources are good, no original research.
  3. Broad in its coverage: Covers main aspects, no unneeded detail.
  4. Neutral: Yes.
  5. Stable: Yes.
  6. Illustrated, if possible, by images: Yes.
