Talk:Jane's Addiction/Archive 1

--Can someone please tell me why they removed my discography which featured the album covers?! It looked a lot better.

Egg Creations 9th November 2005.

-- I did a little research on this and according to what is on ebay, this item is incomplete, at best. There are many Live recordings such as:

  • Live Los Angeles 02/14/87
  • Live Chicago 11/29/88
  • Live Honolulu 09/26/91
  • Live Atlanta 1997

There may be others. Randyc

-- Do you want to get into bootlegs? That would open up a big can of worms. There is one that needs to be added though, Live and Rare. I think it was only available as an import, but I personally, think it's part of the canon. The reason the Live at the Roxy on is in their discograpy is that it was remastered and cleaned up before release. I think they have mp3's of the original recordings on xiola.org. It's not pretty. =)

Removed Chris Chaney... if you put him there you'd have to put "Ed", "Chris Brinkman", and Flea as members as well. Philosopher Torin 23:36, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's mentioned in the article that Jane's Addiction reformed in '97 to record Hard Charger but the song is credited as Porno for Pyros on the soundtrack. I don't know much about either band but it sounds a bit strange to me. Can anyone shed some light on this? Mdhowe 16:13, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

They must have been confused, since Dave Navarro joined Porno For Pyros to record that song, and that exact lineup (with Martyn LeNoble on bass) became the 1997 Jane's Addiction Relapse Tour. Philosopher Torin 08:40, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

--This is just my opinion, but I believe the main pic should be changed to something a little more iconic. It's a great live pic, but if we're looking at an overview of the band, it's just not appropriate. For a start I think there are only 2 members of the band on there. It's also not very eye-catching to the casual reader. I'd be interested in other opinions on this matter.

Eric and Perry ARE Jane's. Anyone who's into the band would know this. It's damn well better than the 2003 publicity shot...Philosopher Torin 04:48, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Breakup edit

Article needs to discuss why the band actually broke up. (After Ritual, that is.) Tempshill 04:42, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Catacombsja.jpg edit

Image:Catacombsja.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Penny rafter? edit

Under "Relapse and new life," there's an unattributed quote, "...fans will see half-naked, penny rafters, guitar solos, and tribal drums..."

1)What's the source on that quote, and who it it attributed to? I searched for a couple of hours tonight, could find nothing

and 2)What on God's Green Earth is a penny rafter?

I tried finding the original contributor, but this was part of an extensive (and well-done) edit by "128.153.221.58" in Sept of '06. Durty Willy 01:24, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
