Changes
editI made some content edits to this page today as per communication with Jan Conn. I don't think most of the edits will conflict with any of the sources, but I did do some bigger changes in the first couple paragraphs of the "Traveling climbers" section. So, if anyone would check if sources still seem appropriate in the places they are, that would be great.
- I didn't get around to dabbling in adding references yet, but, here are a couple web references for the sentence about their "Up Rope" publication. http://www.potomacmountainclub.org/club_officers http://www.forums.caves.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14530
- Also a link to the abstract of Herb's barometric wind article http://www.nps.gov/wica/naturescience/abstract-barometric-winds-in-jewel-and-wind-caves.htm
- One thing I did not figure out how to edit is the heading/s for the cartoon drawings: The first 3 drawings depict the first ascent of South Tower in the Cathedral Spires (as stated in the heading), but the next 4 drawings in the series depict the first ascent of the Conn Diagonal on Outer Outlet (also in the Needles). All the drawings are by Herb Conn.

- Do not worry about the sources. If you delete a sentence with a source, do not delete the source, either use it to support some other fact or copy it to this talk page and we will figure out how to use them. Many of them are just interesting links that repeat the story found in other sources, but there is often some part of the story which is not mentioned elsewhere. I added references to the UP Rope and fixed heading/s for the cartoon drawings. I also added link to the barometric wind abstract. One interesting part might be mention of Schoolhouse cave exploration in WV in 1940's mentioned here. --Jarekt (talk) 04:40, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
