Attack edit

Wasn't he recently attacked and injured? --105.12.6.250 (talk) 14:46, 15 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

1992 local elections edit

Kiwichris, this challenge ("The Spinoff welcomes submissions of evidence on how many votes Shaw actually lost in the 92 local body elections") has your name on it, I reckon. Next time you browse the archives... Schwede66 21:03, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Haha, well if my math is right he missed out by 1,090 votes. I created the 1992 Wellington local elections page quite a while ago which contains the results. Kiwichris (talk) 07:33, 29 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Merger discussion edit

I am suggesting to merge Electoral history of James Shaw with James Shaw (New Zealand politician).

Quote in Political Views section edit

The quote in the political views section is very much editorialised and contains little of Shaw's actual words. To me that is quite misleading as I expect to see Shaw's words particularly as the preceding statement states: 'In an interview with the Aro Valley Valley Voice he put forward his views:' and the words that follow are the journalist's words. Perhaps the quote should be removed and converted into a statement? Any thoughts? Philipp.governale (talk) 08:37, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Tertiary eduation edit

An IP stated that Shaw did not finish his MSc at the University of Bath. Gadfium reverted that as it's sourced. I saw on the news earlier this week that Shaw was questioned why his LinkedIn stated that he holds a degree from Victoria University of Wellington. Shaw's response was that he has always been open about not finishing that degree, but that wasn't clear on LinkedIn. Shaw fixed the LinkedIn record later that day; it now says:

International Political Economy / World Religions
Feb 1991 - Sep 1994
I studied full- and part-time at Victoria University from 1991 to 1994 but did not complete my undergraduate degree.

I hope that clarifies the confusion. Schwede66 02:00, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'm still confused. The article says he completed an MSc at Bath in 2005, and that's sourced to his Beehive profile. It's this degree from Bath that two IP editors have questioned. The article says he attended Victoria but does not claim he has a degree from there.-gadfium 02:27, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think you're saying the IP editors got the two Universities confused.-gadfium 02:30, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, indeed. It was the Victoria University of Wellington studies that Shaw did not see through to graduation. Schwede66 02:46, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
