attribution of Cornwallis' emissary to James Saumarez edit

I am trying to confirm details, however I believe this reference in the wiki entry for Cornwallis, the emissary sent in Cornwallis' place, is the subject James Saumarez:

" On 19 October 1781, an emissary of Cornwallis surrendered the army to Washington. Cornwallis himself declined to attend the ceremony, claiming illness. "

No. It was Brigadier Charles O'Hara. Saumarez was naval, hence out of Cornwallis' chain of command, and as yet a minor figure. Choess 02:39, 21 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
