Tutor edit

This article says he was tutor to Edward, Prince of Wales ("Eddy")., without specifying or linking to the correct Edward, and later states "In 1883 he was tutor to Prince Albert Victor Duke of Clarence and Avondale" which is it? or both? Gwinva (talk) 23:05, 6 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think it should be Albert son of Edward, so have adjusted accordingly.Motmit (talk) 23:27, 6 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

As he was a prince he was given a lot of names. At different times and contexts he was addressed differently. His nickname was Eddy as one of his middle names was Edward and his father was also named Edward. Kenneth James Stephen (my great grandfather's cousin) was connected and distantly related to the the Royal Family through the Lascelles family, thus another reason for his being appointed tutor to his cousin in law. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NicholasSugden (talkcontribs) 11:23, 16 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Reputation as parodist edit

Stephen was a deeply unpleasant person by most accounts, but he is one of the more noted experts in parody of the 19th century; Dwight Macdonald's classic anthology Parodies has several examples of his work. I will have a go at making the article reflect this. Lexo (talk) 09:57, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
