Noting that 1) one of the cited sources says "James Bruce Falls is a significant waterfall in that it is, thus far, the tallest waterfall we have cataloged in North America. However, it is not a major waterfall by any metric other than total height and as far as we are concerned, is simply another minor cascade among the thousands of similar falls throughout the Pacific Northwest."
2)the accompanying photo suggests the "falls" is simply non-horizontal run-off from a glacier
3)the name "James Bruce" is given as 'unofficial', suggesting a vanity name attached to 'a minor cascade among thousands'
4)it is accepted that Yosemite Falls is the tallest in North America

- For whatever it is worth, I took the photo in the article. The falls exist. James_Bruce,_8th_Earl_of_Elgin is not a "vanity" name as Governor General of the Province of Canada. The name is well known and used locally, visitors will be looking it up, the article should stay. Darrell_Greenwood (talk) 20:56, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
To address your points:
1) while at present the source does state such, I have discussed the matter with the author since and new evidence made available has changed our opinion of the significance of the falls. It has come to our attention that the source snow field feeding the perennial outflow is significant enough that the falls do not solely rely on seasonal snow packs and precipitation to maintain its flow and, as such, should no longer be considered a minor seasonal cascade. Of note, it should be noted that the same ridge harbors several other falls which have not been named for this reason.
2) the provided photograph does not show the entirety of the falls, including more vertice sections, nor are they glacier fed.
3) see point one.
4) via 'official' sources', it is indeed; however it should be noted that official sources of waterfalls, especially in North America, are appallingly incomplete and innaccurate and should be taken with a grain of salt. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.49.171.145 (talk) 17:49, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
