Death
edit[1] . Sticking this here in case readers need to go to the French or Spanish WP to find out about his death. WP is losing lots of sympathy by its hidebound obsession of "proof": see the edit history. Most in the community are aware through informal communications. I have conversed with him long enough to appreciate how amused he'd be with WP's repetitive refusal to acknowledge his death.Cuzkatzimhut (talk) 21:42, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you and sorry for your loss. Social media are no acceptable sources by Wiki standards, so his death cannot be added based on those tweets and FB posts. It would be enough for one of the many institutions he was affiliated to to issue an obituary. No one has still done it, and that's a bit of a scandal. Otherwise an obituary by the family (i.e. Legacy) would surely work. But I really hope he gets the recognition he deserves. --Folengo (talk) 17:20, 10 August 2024 (UTC)

- You're putting social pressure on people, trying to make them feel ashamed in order to break or circumvent Wikipedia's rules and standards. That's what the bullies did back when I was in school. How about trying some thinking instead of contemptuous shaking of head? If Wikipedia makes an exception here, people will point to this precedent in other cases, eroding Wikipedia's standards, opening the floodgates for forged information. 217.225.58.25 (talk) 20:34, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
