James “Gallda” Butler was an important member of the Butlers of Ormond who ruled much of counties Tipperary and Kilkenny. The various branches of the family are hard to untangle. He is an important link in the chain from the 3rd Earl of Ormond branch to the Barons of Cahir branch. Laurel Lodged (talk) 22:11, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
