Image on main page edit

Image of fort shown on Jaisalmer page is correct. However at the bottom of the page a photo named "Amar Sagar" ( with lots of pidgeons flying around the lake pavillion ) is incorrectly named. This pavillion is located on GANGA SAGAR lake south of Jaisalmer approxm 5 kms from the town.

City name edit

Everywhere in the article and in other english language wikipedia articles, the city is spelled "Jaisalmer", only the very first word of this article states it as "Jaysalmar", without any explanation why. I'll set the first word to "Jaisalmer", but if anyone can provide a sensible explanation why to have two variations (with external sources), it would be no problem to adapt the beginning of the text. This place due its geographical location, high wind yeild round the year and availability of vast stretches of land, has become the biggest hub for generation of clean energy from wind, in India. almost all big names in wind energy have installed their wind energy converters (WECs). Name of lake edit

The lake is listed as Gadisar in the body, but the caption below the two images and in the "in popular culture" is spelled "Gadsisar". Spelling is typically written as Gadisar or Gadisagar. Erkund (talk) 16:42, 28 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Merging of History of Jaisalmer in Jaisalmer's History Section edit

History of Jaisalmer should be merged with jaisalmer. There is no need for seperate Wikipedia page. Probably will get more traction with Jaisalmer page compare to separate History page. Pyaaz Kachori (talk) 06:24, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • History of Jaisalmer is too bloated and good part of it is unsourced, the writing isn't very good either, as compared to this one. In its current version, I wouldn't support the merge to Jaisalmer, a B-class article. Not to mention a list of rulers would look odd in the history section. Only if the contents of History of Jaisalmer is thoroughly copyedited and cleanup up, a succinct version of it that doesn't overlap with what is already present in Jaisalmer#History, could be merged. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:46, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
