HELPFUL INFO
editit would be useful to know what the initial. theoretical and actual manpower and number of aircraft of the group was during its period of operations; also the rotation and replacement rates of pilots and other manpower and of machines —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.27.221.233 (talk) 12:53, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Plan
editThis is a "document" for the organization of this page. In my head, it makes sense to put this here, as the Talk page is stapled onto the article itself. This is based heavily on this version of Jagdgeschwader 1 (World War II), which was made an A-class article in 2008.
- Lead
- The universal head of the article, which contains an abbreviated version of the article. Essentially the stuff that the casual reader is looking for, like a brief history. The rest of the article is purely context for this.
- Formation history
- The earliest period in the unit's history, covering formation. I don't want the reader to scroll down and immediately be slapped with wikitables and a paragraph on Luftwaffe organization, which largely doesn't concern the unit itself. By covering the formation of the unit known as Jagdgeschwader 52, the reader will have context for the aforementioned wikitables containing very basic information on the unit's squadrons (staffeln).
- Organizational structure
- The aforementioned wikitables and paragraph on Luftwaffe organization during the war, which contains in its first two paragraphs the command structure and basic tactics of the Luftwaffe's fighter wings. More importantly, it has subsections for every gruppe, and staffel in JG 52's case, which will contain a basic individual history of those gruppe, and their staffeln as necessary (planes/variants thereof flown, notable pilots and/or events, etc.).
- History section(s)
- The history of the unit as a whole, divided into important operations or certain periods of time (Ex: "Operation Barbarossa" or "Phoney War", rather than "1944" or "1945").
- Commanding officers
- I'm on the fence about this one. Editor K.e. Coffman has axed prior versions of this section, as they were poorly cited or uncited, but the section doesn't look as nice as it could. Perhaps replace the lists with tables?
