I'm tagging this article for wikification. Also, as I remember Fifth Chinese Daughter, having read it twice, in the 1960s and in the 1980s, Jade Snow Wong's father's opposition to her independence was a key resistance against which she had to work as a student and a young adult: this is not mentioned in the article as it now exists.
