My understanding of Japanese eligibility rules is that he'd have to start again from Day 0, despite historic living in Japan, unless he has a Japanese passport from that spell living in Japan. I seem to remember it stopped Ben Gunter and Rahboni Warren-Vosayaco representing Japan at the 2019 World Cup, and Michael Stolberg qualifying this year. Unless he has a Japanese parent/grandparent then I believe it will take him 5 years to gain eligibility. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 20:01, 17 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
