reverting unreferenced, copyvio-limit edit regarding film/tv docu/book edit

This edit has several problems:

  • Introduction:
    • The wikipedia entry A Force More Powerful gives no suggestion that DuVall had any role at all in Steve York's original film. DuVall's cv only refers to the TV series that was developed out of the original film. It looks like there is info that first should be added to A Force More Powerful, and then after it would make sense to copy the relevant part back here. i'll have a look shortly...
    • Talking about DuVall being founding director of ICNC without mentioning Ackerman is misleading, IMHO, given that Ackerman is/was founding chair. The RS's that we have say that the ICNC considers both of them as founders.
  • Main text:
    • co-author of the companion book of the same name sounds very close to a copyright violation of DuVall's CV. There are plenty of different ways to talk about a book developed out of a tv series that developed out of a film, without having to quote word-for-word an official CV.
    • PBS: This is not the UnitedStates.wikipedia.org, this is the Wikipedia about world knowledge, written in the English language. The acronym needs to be defined and put into a world context, so linking it to its wikipedia article and stating that it's a USA television network is a reasonable minimum IMHO.
    • same problems as in introduction
    • nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Historical Programming: Is this really notable? It's part of DuVall's official CV, but for a long-time TV executive to manage to get his TV series at least nominated in a competition in the same country does not sound incredibly notable to me. In any case, we do not have a source for saying the category in which the tv series was nominated. At least there should be a source.

For all these reasons, i'm undoing the edit. Please remember: this is not DuVall's CV, and this is not the USA.wikipedia.org. Boud (talk) 12:20, 3 November 2010 (UTC) (minor modif: Boud (talk) 12:59, 3 November 2010 (UTC))Reply

update: Credit for the original film: i've used the review.com (Elsevier) source which gives DuVall as one of the four producers/executive-producers of what is apparently the original film. Boud (talk) 12:59, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
