He was Syriac perhaps originally from southern Iran (Ahwaz)however he was not Persian because he never wrote in Persian he only wrote in Arabic and Syriac (from wikipedia), also i added one source in one of these articles (Bakhtishu)and i'll try to find more sources later --Aziz1005 00:16, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sibawayh, who originally developed Arabic grammar was also not an Arab, but a Persian. And the Syriac tongue is no stranger to Iran, since Pahlavi derives its script and much of its vocabulary from written Imperial Aramaic, from which is of the Syriac family. Aramaic was in fact a tongue spoken in the Persian Imperial courts as well.[1]. Hope this helps clear the confusion.--Zereshk 09:07, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
The homeland of Syriac and Aramic people is Syria .And the name Bakhtishu according to (كتاب عيون الأنباء في طبقات الأطباء) Kitab oyoon al anbaa fe tabaqat al atebaa from the 12th century for ابن أبي أصيبعة ibn abi usaybia means ومعنى بختيشوع عبد المسيح لأن في اللغة السريانية البخت العبد ويشوع عيسى عليه السلام (servant of Jesus) in Syriac language . also you should mention that Yuhanna ibn Bukhtishu became Bishop of Mousel (893 CE) (northern Iraq) الموصل العراق .Also this family moved to Baghdad and later on to Northern Syria .Hope this helps to expand the articles --Aziz1005 15:55, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
