Birth year

edit

TV guide is a reliable source. They list her birthday as February 27, 1986. IMDB, while less reliable (the content on their website is user-generated) agrees with this.

Dawnseeker2000 23:19, 19 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Jenni's actually 36, in her YouTube video for her birthday last year, she turned 35 so she was born on 1985.[1] 11:11, 24 September 2021 (UTC)

Work!

edit

If it wasn't obvious this article needs work then I don't know what is. This article fails to mention what race she is or anything else really important information. I want to volunteer to help this article. Tj1224 (talk) 02:50, 29 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Early Life Jwoww got her second degree black belt when she was 17. She was very interested in snow mobbling. As a young girl, she was a tomboy. She listened to what she wanted, wore what she wanted, and acted how she wanted.

Early Carrer Before Jenni was JWOWW, she got to leave high school a year early and went to collage at New York School of Technology. She was great artist, and her portfolio was incredible. She left school with a 3.9 GPA.

Until reliable third party sources are provided that show she has coverage other than as member of the reality show, this article needs to remain a redirect. See WP:BLP1E and WP:N Active Banana (bananaphone 00:55, 14 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I don't know if this would could toward the above, however, her filmography does need an update. Ms. Farley recently landed a recurring role as a bartender named Nikki in the online reboot of One Life to Live [2] Erinsm (talk) 20:46, 30 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Um.. who is Mickey Tangelo? Fake name and everyone knows she still goes out with Roger Williams. Let's not mess up her Wikipedia page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.181.153.89 (talk) 05:50, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

First, there should be a "Personal Life" section, which I don't see on here. And her sexual orientation is under the "Career" section. Huh??

Also, it is as obnoxious to call someone "a bisexual" as it is to say "a gay." Not only is no article is required, and it sounds pejorative. You wouldn't write on Wikipedia that someone "is a Jew"; you would say they are Jewish. Therefore, "Farley has said she is bisexual" is sufficient. No "a".76.124.164.80 (talk) 23:57, 7 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Birthday

edit

She said that her birthday was on February the 25th, not the 27th in an MTV interview. She celebrated it on the 27th due to the fact that she was scheduled for a Saturday party (which was the 27th). Bastian (talk) 19:14, 2 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

The cited source is reliable and unequivocal, "Date of Birth / Zodiac Sign: 02/27/1986"[1] We'll need a reliable source we can cite before we can say anything else. - SummerPhD (talk) 20:54, 2 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
TMZ agrees with 27 February 1986.[2] - SummerPhD (talk) 21:04, 2 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Didn't realize TMZ was a reputable source. Double standards maybe? Might as well include interviews with Opie and Anthony.KlappCK (talk) 01:21, 7 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
I wouldn't exactly cite them for much of anything, but compared to someone's recollection of an interview on MTV, I'd go with TMZ paired with TVGuide. Granted, if the NYT cares to weigh in... - SummerPhD (talk) 23:24, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
The TV Guide site no longer gives her birth date, if it ever did. --Tenebrae (talk) 23:32, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
It did as of 2 October 2011. - SummerPhD (talk) 01:20, 11 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
TV Guide doesn't seem to list her now, and since news outlets were reporting that she was 27 when she got engaged in Sept. 2012 and is 27 when she announced her pregnancy in December 2013, something's not right here. It's not unusual for actors, actresses and other celebrities, especially ingenues, to shave a year or two off their age.
TMZ uses Wikipedia for their little capsule bios, so that part of TMZ is a mirror site and not useable for birth dates.
We need to cite a reputable journalistic publication for her actual birth date, as opposed to places just giving her age (perhaps after having seen it on Wikipedia). Otherwise giving her age as either 27 or 28 is contentious. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:18, 25 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Why is her name "Woww" anyway? Source? Seemingly unjustified and unsourced? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.249.123.10 (talk) 01:07, 16 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

"Admitted" versus "Avowed."

edit

I'd like to suggest that "admitted bisexual" be altered to "avowed bisexual." "Admit" carries a connotation of guilt or reluctance, vis-a-vis the definition "to confess to be true or to be the case, typically with reluctance," as opposed to "avow," which is simply to state openly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kdreeves (talkcontribs) 19:58, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

"Avowed" has just as many problems as "admitted" IMO. "Avowed" makes it sound like bisexuality is a religion. An orientation is just what one is, not a belief system. You wouldn't say someone is an avowed Caucasian or an avowed Asian, since it is just what they are. The whole issue can be sidestepped by simply stating, "Farley has said she is bisexual" with a cite to an article or other source. The only way I would use the words "admitted" or "avowed" with "bisexual" is if there were an actual quote of Farley using those exact words to describe herself.76.124.164.80 (talk) 00:06, 8 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Birthplace uncited, and incorrect

edit

Jenni Farley was not born in Franklin Square, NY. According to her own booking agency, she was born in East Greenbush, New York ("Jenni 'JWOWW' Farley was born on February 27, 1986 in rural East Greenbush, New York. At 21, Jenni left her upstate New York home for Manhattan, where she began a career in...."). The article already says she attended high school in East Greenbush and People magazine here says she grew up there.

Finally, Farley herself says, "Omg for the last time I lived in Franklin Square when I tried out for show! I never grew up there.... I am not from Long Island lol... Love FS but only lived there a yr." --2604:2000:1382:C5DD:EDC6:A655:C43:D253 (talk) 18:58, 28 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now: Need a more clear source. "Cheers to 38" could mean cheers to the past 38 years or cheers to her upcoming 38th year. Too unclear to contradict a specific birth year we have from a currently cited source. Cannolis (talk) 21:03, 11 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
