History edit

The history section in question was from the JDC West site originally (or so it appears), furthermore the person who posted it posessed copywrite (I recognize the name). If anything, the UVic page took it, with permission, from the JDC West Website. I think that it is best to put it back for the time being. I did so with a basic rewording. Unless there is an explicit release under GFDL, and exstablish that the poster is allowed to do so, then it would be a copyright violation on wikipedia. -- Whpq 03:14, 29 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please be aware that this article was edited by a representative of a PR firm edit

The information about co-chairs was added by the IP 194.242.55.7. As this edit reveals, this IP is used by Niall Cook who openly admits on his user page that he works for the PR firm Hill & Knowlton and keeps contributing to wikipedia. Using the wiki-tool of a whois search, one can find that all IPs in the range of 194.242.55.0 - 194.242.55.255 belong to Hill & Knowlton. On top of obscene vandalism, the IP was found to use wikipedia for whitewashing the government of the Maldives that had hired his firm for improving its reputation that had been harmed by human rights violations. Please think about the question whether the added information is of encyclopedic value or just marketing for those mentioned. Knopffabrik (talk) 19:27, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
