Rouse was a notable pioneering evangelist in the Gospel Hall Brethren movement.
Some of his history helps with the controversy in the talk page of the Gospel Hall Brethren, in that it shows how the Gospel Hall brethren of the time had practices much different than the Gospel Hall Brethren of today. Many within the sect believe they have not changed, but they have.

Editing notes edit
The article needs significant copyediting. It contains largely unreferenced material and non-encyclopedic phrasing. I've tried to do some minor editing several times, but the article gets reverted back to its original condition. I hope someone can improve it. JimVC3 (talk) 04:10, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
