Period in article title

The period in the current title of this article ("Italy. Common Good") is very unusual and does not fit with standard English usage. I understand that the logo of the alliance includes the period, but that is simply a stylistic choice for the logo. Attempting to use the period in prose is unworkable—it interrupts the flow of sentences. Because of this quirky period, the current article text goes out of its way to avoid using the name of the alliance except in the first sentence, saying "the alliance" or "the coalition" everywhere else. On this issue, Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks says:

  • Avoid using special characters that are not pronounced, are included purely for decoration, or simply substitute for English words (e.g., ♥ used for "love"). In the article about a trademark, it is acceptable to use decorative characters the first time the trademark appears, but thereafter, an alternative that follows the standard rules of punctuation should be used:
    • avoid: […], skate., […]
    • instead, use: […], Skate, […]

In accordance with this guideline, I believe the period is merely stylistic in nature, and this article should be renamed "Italy Common Good" with no period. The first sentence can still mention the period if that is deemed important; for example,

Italia Bene Comune (Italy Common Good, stylized as Italia. Bene Comune) is an Italian centre-left political and electoral alliance

If there are no objections, I will make this move in a few hours, unless someone else beats me to it. —Bkell (talk) 13:05, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
