The person has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in his or her specific field: Israel Beck was (and still is) recognized as a leading figure in the Antwerp diamond industry, who pursued successful development of the industry and trade in the city, as well as its reconstruction after WW II. His political endeavours are testified by eg these pictures with King Baudouin of Belgium and Emperor Hirohito of Japan.
hello @Piotrus: thank you for your comment yes of course newspaper articles have been published. I know where to look, will need to go to the library and find archived copies of newspapers from the 50s and 60s (unfortunately Google cannot index such old hardcopy newspapers and magazines).
