This article presents the muslim views of Christianity, but says nothing about the Christian views of Islam. The way this article is written is more like a wikiproject than an encyclopedia article.--Sefringle 01:47, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

The result of the debate was PAGE MOVED to Islamic studies of Christianity per discussion below. This title has the advantage of accurately reflecting the current contents of the article. If anobody comes up with material about Christian studies of Islam, then we can talk about whether or not to merge the two articles; I could easily imagine a thorough and neutral article about either topic alone. -GTBacchus^(talk) 03:18, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Survey - in opposition to the move

1. First, the proposed title sounds very awkward; Comparative studies of Islam and Christianity would be better. This page is about Islamic scholarly studies of Christianity (Islamic studies of Christianity would probably make it clearer; otherwise it sounds like you're talking about the study of a religion known as "Islamic Christianity"). Don't see why discussion of Christian scholarly studies of Islam belongs here, it can go in a separate article Christian studies of Islam or something. cab 02:27, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

   Considering we don't have such an article, I figured it would be better if we just had a combination article where we talk about both. That way neither article would be POV pushing. Islamic studies of Christianity would hence be written from an Islamic POV, while Chirsiian studies of Islam would hence be written from a Christian POV. Rather than have two POV articles, it would be better to have one NPOV article in which both perspectives are discussed.--Sefringle 03:31, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

   I agree that the current title isn't superb, but I think that cab's Islamic studies of Christianity is much better, as it clearly explains what the article is about, while the comparative studies bit doesn't. Kyle Barbour 19:11, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
