Regarding the current speedy template: I'm not sure what valid speedy criteria would apply here. This isn't an attempt to recreate the article (CSD G4) nor is there anything in the deletion discussion to suggest a redirect couldn't or shouldn't be created (indeed, the nominator originally tried to redirect the article before going to AFD).
