Law on Islam does not regulate the version of Quran that may be used in Austria edit

This is a wide spread misunderstanding that has been picked up by some media outlets. There seems to be a belief that the Austrian law requires Muslims to use German language Qurans or prohibits the use of Arabic language Qurans. This is wrong. There is freedom of worship in Austria (Article 9 European Charter of Human Rights -- the Charter is part of the Austrian constitution). The Law on Islam doesn't deal with worship per se, which is free, but with the establishment of so called 'Islamischen Religionsgesellschaften' which are publicly recognized religious communities that have additional rights (such as to teach their religion in public schools, be consulted by the government in certain matters...). The law doesn't even regulate the version of the Quran that may be used in such religious communities. It just requires that, to be recognized, the religious communities have to present their teachings and a version of their fundamental texts (which includes the Quran) to the authorities in German. Nothing in the law prohibits the religious community to present a translated version and still use, in their day to day practice, the Arabic version of the Quran.

Here's the Law on Islam in German: https://www.ris.bka.gv.at/GeltendeFassung.wxe?Abfrage=Bundesnormen&Gesetzesnummer=20009124. The relevant paragraphs are §5/1/3 in conjunction with §6/1/5. I'd also like to mention that the statement in the article here, that "...[the law is] regulating the version of the Quran that may be used in Austria." is in direct contradiction with a Washington Post article cited at another point on this page that says "Muslim organizations are not required to use a standardized German translation of the Koran, but central tenets of the religion must be presented in German, a foreign ministry official told The Post." (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/02/26/austria-is-taking-controversial-steps-to-tighten-a-100-year-old-law-on-islam/)

Since my simple deleting of the incorrect clause has been reverted, I will correct it and add a citation of the WaPo article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mumbogumshoe (talkcontribs) 11:14, 8 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Largest minority religion? edit

What is supposed to mean "largest minority religion?" It looks quite dubious claim and it makes little sense when it's also called the second largest religion in the nation.
