Separation of film and games edit

Let it be known to any who think that Trespasser the game has anything to do with this, that they are dead wrong.

If you look on the wall in Hammond's office in the game, and compare it to that which is in the film, it is COMPELTELY different.

The story lines are also different. Checking the dates Hammond gives in the game against the film, you end up finding that JP took place not in 1993 as we're told in the film, but rather, in 1980something.

Cannon wise, they are separated.

Yes the islands are the same name, but they are NOT the same in any other form. --72.188.61.226 04:05, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Separation of novel and film edit

There needs to be a clearer separation in this article of what is true in the novel and what is true in the films; there are significant differences (eg the hurricane edits that myself and User:Tyrannosaur made). Batmanand | Talk 12:26, 20 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree whole heartedly. Not to mention island layout wise the film version of the island appears physically different, and possibly larger, from it's novel counterpart. --Tyrannosaur 18:14, 20 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I wonder if there are any scans of the foldout map of Isla Sorna that Kodak gave out when the film was released as a promotion. -- 21:33, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

I have a scan of the novel version of the map. This article should eaither be split or redesigned as the information is not only misleading but quite whole heartedly false in many cases. The film NEVER mentions the DX virus as a cause of any concern and the animals were only released to mature on their own becuase of Hurricane Clarissa, something not mentioned in the novel. They were left and then because of hurricane Clarissa and the islands now untamed nature, they simply abandoned Site B, a facility which was built PRIOR to Nublar. There had to be some proof of the yeild--which would have been less than 1% so Sorna had to have been made first, initially to supply for San Diego, but then when plans changed and Nublar was incorporated, the animals--now developed, were transfered there instead.

This whole article is a mis-mosh of mis information --Voyager1 10:03, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Leave Ptaranodon Longiceps edit

There is no article for Pteranodon Longiceps, instead, there is an article that has a breif overview of all pteranodon species. Please LEAVE the brackets around Pteranodon as it will bring people to that article. --70.119.50.167 00:58, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Shouldn't Velociraptor antirrhopus be Deinonychus antirrhopus?

No, because it's Velociraptor in the film. I mean, technically that's what the "real world" version is... but it's velociraptor in the film. Maybe if there is a way to link it but still say velociraptor (not too familiar with how to do that)--72.188.61.226 04:03, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Grammatical errors edit

"Forgotten, dinosaurs take over the island and turn it into a real Jurassic Park. Some animals go extinct while others begins to exhibit strange behaviors."

This really doesn't seem to mesh well with the rest of the text... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.217.60.67 (talk) 12:49, 23 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

Translation of name? edit

In Velvet Barrios: Popular Culture & Chicana/o Sexualities (2002), Alicia Gaspar de Alba and Tomas Ybarra Frausto note "that dinosaurs are not the only threat on Isla Sorna (Isle of Cunning)." Is that the translation of the island's name? I do not know Spanish, so I checked this and the result was "Island Sarcasm". I would like to cite somewhere in the article the translation as backed up by a third-party published source, but wasn't sure what to make of the one mentioned above. Thanks! Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 06:41, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

In word lingo, I got sorna meaning sarcasm, and cunning being astrucia. 72.35.108.17 (talk) 15:20, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
