Contested deletion edit
This page should not be speedily deleted because... (She is a Government minister in a fairly large nation, her predecessor looks to have an article, do I need more?) --T. Anthony (talk) 06:25, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

- Per WP:AN/CXT, raw machine translations should be deleted. A translation by a Wikipedian with dual fluency would be welcome, but the issue with machine translations is that they can pervert or even invert the meaning of the source text.—S Marshall T/C 17:57, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
- I've replaced what was in it with stuff from sources. Maybe that's not policy, but deleting then bringing back an article seems like it shouldn't be necessary. Still if you want to put the tag back I guess you can. (I think some of these policies, or their application, get a bit stupid at times. I sort-of get this one in a way, but when I made it doing machine translations was a feature you could use to start an article. And that was just a year ago.)--T. - Nope, no new tag from me. When I look at it now I see an article on a Spanish government minster written by a Wikipedian rather than a script, so I have no problem with it.
From my point of view I'm working through the 3,583 articles listed here trying to work out which have been accurately translated. I don't speak Spanish; if you're able to look at any of them and confirm the accuracy of a translation from Spanish, then that would be amazingly helpful! - Okay. Truth is I intended the machine translation just to be a start and that it would gradually become something else. Or it even just be a place-sitter to get changed utterly. That didn't happen. I kind of feel at times like Wikipedia is a bit less vibrant than it once was, though on foreign-language topics it always did that a little.
