"Doublespeak"
editI think Professor Corey's style would be better described as double-talk instead of doublespeak; the difference is that it is intentionally comic rather than serious and doesn't necessarily approach any kind of "truth" by the use of euphemisms or ambiguity. At times he parodies doublespeak with double-talk. There is a difference. I've edited the article. 70.114.146.227 (talk) 13:19, 10 March 2014 (UTC) Eric
- Totally correct that double-talk is not doublespeak. Thanks. Zaslav (talk) 01:45, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
The Times obit states "Irwin Corey was born Irwin Eli Cohen on July 29, 1914"
editShould not this article state that instead of being born with the name "Corey"? Perhaps the "Cohen" is more appropriate as it indicates he was of the "priestly" caste. Ed (talk) 17:07, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, it should. I will fix it now. Zaslav (talk) 01:44, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
Inaccurate citations
editSome citations to the NY Times obituary are not justified by the text of the obituary. I fixed one, but correct sources need to be found. Zaslav (talk) 01:47, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
