Copyvio issues edit

Just starting a heading where concerns can be discussed. RashersTierney (talk) 08:41, 8 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

This was a rather long time ago, so let's see what I can remember...in this edit I showed an example of the close paraphrasing. It was in the process of reviewing DYK nominations. From my (fuzzy) memory of this article, it wasn't as bad as some I had come across, but had patches of close paraphrasing. I think the whole "Doolough Tragedy" section had very close wording, and maybe all of "After The Great Famine" too. (But don't rely on my memory.) Hope this helps, Shubinator (talk) 05:29, 10 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I also had some niggling doubts regarding the extent of the Doolough Tragedy coverage. I no longer think putting together this article will be of Humpty Dumpty proportions but would like a couple of hours with my books, particularly Peter Gray's, Helen Burke's and John O'Connor's before getting stuck into it from next Monday. Rebuilding article at Talk:Irish Poor Laws/Temp edit

Have begun this process, but will probably not complete substantive re-write in time given, as am currently away from my library. RashersTierney (talk) 13:41, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

There's no absolute time limit, so the article can simply remain blanked until you finish working on a clean rewrite for it. We'd always prefer that something be rewritten rather than just losing large chunks of content. Thanks for taking the time to work on this! VernoWhitney (talk) 15:32, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
No prob. Thanks for clarifying time issue. RashersTierney (talk) 15:48, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
