Irish Language in Scotland edit

Quite a few Irish speakers have moved to Scotland, especially Glasgow.--MacRusgail (talk) 16:34, 30 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

'Irish' in Wales and Cornwall edit

This section is simply wrong or at very least needs clarification and a source:

An early example was the widespread use of Irish in Wales, Cornwall and other parts of western Britain in the period of Roman decline and the sub-Roman era.

Welsh and Cornish are not forms of the Irish language or even forms of a Goidelic language, they are quite separate Insular Celtic languages. See Welsh and Cornish. I have changed it until someone can provide evidence that the Irish language was widely spoken, "in Wales, Cornwall and other parts of western Britain in the period of Roman decline and the sub-Roman era." The sentence doesn't claim that Welsh and Cornish are forms of Irish or a Goidelic language. The sentence claims that Irish was once spoken in Wales, Cornwall, and western Britain, which is confirmed by the large number of Irish-language Ogham inscriptions in those areas; see Ogham inscription#Wales and Ogham inscription#England, Isle of Man, Scotland for sources.
