Where is the computing centre? edit

The article does not say where the centre is. If the location is distributed or dispersed, perhaps one who knows could include the details in the article. My online investigations yielded no clear answer, though perhaps it is in the Trinity Technology & Enterprise Campus on Grand Canal Quay in Dublin? --O'Dea (talk) 00:49, 1 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you; I saw those addresses at the contact page; however, I wonder where the "Centre" is — where the actual computers are. If it is a network distributed over physical distance, as in Dublin and Galway (190 km), then is there not a severe sacrifice in network speed from having the processors separated by such distance? The Dublin-Galway addresses may be administrative rather than computational; I don't know. If the computers are networked over such distance, the name "Centre" suggests a misnomer. --O'Dea (talk) 08:54, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see someone has edited the article to answer your query. Yes, the term "Centre" is being used here in a figurative, rather than physical sense. However, the advent of grid computing technologies makes physical location of resources less important nowadays. Letdorf (talk) 13:22, 18 June 2010 (UTC).Reply
