This page is to differentiate Ipswich the locality (ie the suburb) with Ipswich the city. There are two other articles (Ipswich, Queensland, and City of Ipswich) which are both trying to be the main article for the City of Ipswich. As such, they are mainly made up of information not pertaining to what is actually found in Ipswich the actual suburb.

Like other wiki articles for the suburbs of the City of Ipswich, with this article I am merely trying to give a rundown of facilities (transport, health, churches, parks, schools etc) to be found in each, so readers can discover what is actually located in the suburbs, as it may be useful for those looking to visit for move there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gmcker (talk • contribs) 05:19, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Ipswich is a suburb

Ipswich is no longer a city in the population sense, so this article should not be written in that sense. Take a look at Dandenong, Victoria, Parramatta, New South Wales, Redcliffe, Queensland or Elizabeth, South Australia for the proper context. These articles define the cities as suburbs and major urban centres and make brief reference to their municipalities for population of the urban area. Therefore Ipswich (suburb), Queensland should be merged into this article as that is the main context of this article. Sister cities also belong in the City of Ipswich article, not this article. --Biatch (talk) 01:10, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Ipswich (suburb) should be left alone.

There is a clear distinction between Ipswich (as in Ipswich city - which is a well used designation for the larger area) and the smaller central suburb.

Much of the information in the Ipswich, Queensland pertains to informaiton outside the suburb itself, and instead the urban and rural suburbs of Ipswich.

As such, I'd like to see City of Ipswich merged with Ipswich, Queenland and Ipswich (suburb) left (and improved) as it is consistent with the other suburnan Ipswich entries.
