This page has been erased because we can't define yet the implications this page will have in Si6 research.

Huh? This is an encyclopedia, not a research lab whiteboard. jni 11:38, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

only the former edit

"Only the former is correct." I THINK the author meant that only the LATTER (the second one) is correct. While I agree with this statement, it's not clear why it is included in the piece. It almost feels like a dig in a dispute someone has with their boss or co-worker. Brainhell 05:23, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

You were rigth, i meant that the latter was correct. I fix it. Thanks.
It's not a dispute, it's here because I found all the time articles and papers talking about IDS as 'Intruder detection systems', and I want to make the difference clear. As this concept is rather new, talking about 'intruders' in place of 'intrusions' it's a common misconception. (eldraco 13:42, 27 December 2006 (UTC))Reply
I agree with Brainhell. Unless it can be sourced, and an argument can be made for its importance to the topic, I think the "Translation confusion" section should be removed. For the time being, I've added a [citation needed] tag. Dindon (talk) 02:45, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced edit

I've added a "Unreferenced" tag to this article, as it lacks any citations and the research I've done suggests that the definition of "Intruder detection" espoused here is not widely recognized, and that the term is in fact often used interchangeably with "intrusion detection", even by reputable sources (to wit, the first Google result for 'intruder detection', from Carnegie Mellon's CERT site).Dindon (talk) 03:02, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
