Looks like WP-invented styling of title edit

   I got rid of the error msg without presuming to decide what the title should be: i preserved what the previous editor(s?) was obviously trying to achieve.
   Nevertheless, i can't ignore the title looking like the parentheses were chosen as the means of separating the 2 parts of the title primarily bcz it looks like a style WP one of its most characteristic standards. (Which would be the worst possible choice for three reasons:

  1. it is characteristic of WP, not for reasons of clarifying the syntax of a title, but for Dab'g -- in fact, Into the Wild is a Dab with 6 articles for which parens in their titles serve for Dab'g
  2. while this article's Dab entry does differ from the others on that Dab page (in having the parens and what's inside them italicized), the difference is too subtle for many readers to notice, with the effect that some of them will give up finding the record on the Dab page: they may well have been told to check out the album whose abbreviated title is "Into the Wild", and decide that WP doesn't cover such an album.
  3. Users who pass thru the Dab page and have no interest in or knowledge of the album are likely to regard the bizarre inconsistency of that entry as one more piece of evidence that WP is another sloppily executed crap site.

   In case that's not enuf, whose idea is using parens to delineate the two phrases? Among the first 10 G-hits, only WP uses it, and some imitate the cover by imposing no separation; of the next 10, parens are a minority, with square brackets, hyphens, and colons also indicating separation. (IMDb, whose strong ties to the entertainment industry suggest an authoritative source for names of works, shows nothing intervening between "Wild" and "Live".)
   At the risk of abusing the "move request" header (by not caring which other format we move it to), i'm initiating a "rename to something else" discussion.

I haven't read all your arguments yet, but I would like to point out that Into the Wild (Live At EastWest Studios) is the title used at iTunes, that's why I used the parantheses when naming the article. https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/into-wild-live-at-eastwest/id527074991 Mayast (talk) 20:42, 8 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
   "It was iTunes's idea" is an appropriate response to my rhetorical question, and much more pertinent than most responses to rhetorical questions! If you feel i wronged you, please count this as an apology.

Out of process Request and Closure of it edit

   While there appears to be no offense worse than insufficient attention to how such requests should be handled, error has apparently be compounded by further error. My role in this is two-fold:

  1. As i put it on the 20th of last month,
    at the risk of abusing the "move request" header (by not caring which other format we move it to)
i invoked the {{RM}} template without specifying what title should replace the one whose suitability i questioned.

@Jerzy: We have
  • Oppose, as Into the Wild (Live At EastWest Studios) is the correct album title per iTunes. I don't see the need to shorten it in any way, as I don't think that we are dealing with a subtitle here.
However, I would also be fine with moving the article to Into the Wild: Live at EastWest Studios, as that's the title used at AllMusic: http://www.allmusic.com/album/into-the-wild-live-at-eastwest-studios-mw0002332666Mayast (talk) 20:42, 8 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Live at EastWest Studios is a subtitle. See WP:SUBTITLE. Usually we do not include the subtitle in the Wikipedia page name, but for purposes of disambiguation is a valid reason to. And the colon, as you used it, is the correct way to dab with a subtitle. I can support that too. So, it looks like we may have a consensus for Into the Wild: Live at EastWest Studios. – Wbm1058 (talk) 21:12, 8 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
