I am looking for more information about this show. Specifically, Does the author of this article have more than an academic interest in INTERSTER? Involved in the production of the series? If so, in what way? I am seriously interested myself in producing a show of this type. Is there a source for images? Or a fan site? Does the author have material or artifacts related to the show? Is the author in contact with any of the original production crew? 209.204.172.170 20:20, 4 April 2006 (UTC)ThanksReply

Hi there,

I was big fan of Interster when I was growing up and saw it on South African Television (SABC) as well as in Nambia. It seems as though it has completely vanished from the radar quite strangely considering the superior production value to any childrens programs ever created locally since. I live in Cape Town now and would love to see the sci-fi depiction of the Cape town foreshore and CBD again and perhaps even help to release a DVD version with remastered sound, colour correction, interviews with the creators, and develop an Interactive Flash website to promote it.

If anyone knows where I can find any information about Interster, please post a reply.

Hello All, I actually worked on the Interster production in the early 1980's. We used a ex-school on the edge of District Six. The series was produced by C-Films - the name of the head honcho escapes me. I emailed him a few years back and he replied that the tapes had been bought by someone (SABC?) and they wouldn't let him see them. Interestingly most of the crew in production were ex students of Cape Town High School, English speaking and certainly left of centre politically. The Rice family had a lot to do with the production - the oldest son (whose name I also can't remember) ran the site and Simon (Nick) worked there too. I'd say the average age was 20 - we had great fun filming and even made our own 'out-takes' video which involved 'Buks De La Rey' and his vice captain engaging in acts which were definately illegal in SA at that time !!

I'd love to see any footage of this show.

Hello...I never saw Interster but now I very interested in the show...I like the old Gerry Anderson series and things like "Space Patrol" (the U.K. Puppet TV show)...I never heard about Interster and I wish somebody put that on DVD...if someone knows where will can find pictures of the show please just write...I search the internet but I never found a single picture...I just found a little video of the other production (the one with the silly and funny witch). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.211.248.132 (talk) 16:37, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello. If you search Google for Interster, you will see I have blog posts with some rare screensnaps as well as a link to three brief videos. Mike Cane 2008 is the blog, btw. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.164.158.202 (talk) 16:35, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
