Opening comment edit

I want to merge the I-20 exit lists for individual states into this page, and then possibly merge this page into the I-20 page.

Exit list edit

What notes? --Holderca1 talk 20:52, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

== {{jct}}

Because I-20 in Texas is so long (I-10 has the same problem), using {{jct}} for every exit caused the page to break due to Wikipedia:Template limits. I used Special:ExpandTemplates to replace all the {{jct}} calls in the exit list. If there are mistakes and you want to use the template to fix individual exits, that's totally fine, but please do not restore them on the entire list. -- Kéiryn talk 20:52, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I didn't see the page having any problem, we have had problems with this in the past and I just modified the template so it would work. --Holderca1 talk 20:54, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I-10 is working fine for me as well. --Holderca1 talk 20:57, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
It wasn't working in Safari. I brought it up on IRC and Imzadi said he was having the same problem (although I think he's also a Mac/Safari user). -- Kéiryn talk 21:07, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I had no such problem in Safari. What exactly did it look like? --Holderca1 talk 21:09, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
It produced the error message listed at Wikipedia:Template limits#Preprocessor node count every time it tried to call a template below a certain point. (Exit 501 on I-20, somewhere in the 600s I think on I-10.) I can't tell you exactly where on I-10 because for some reason the old revisions in the page history work fine now, so color me confused. But like I said, Imzadi was having the same problem, so maybe it's just best to just leave the templates out. -- Kéiryn talk 21:14, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Very strange indeed. I am not really arguing the inclusion or exclusion of the templates, just thinking of fixing it if there is a problem. Try loading up Interstate 35 in Texas to see if there is a problem there as it is a long one as well. I actually had a problem in the past with it hitting limits before I-10. I checked in Safari and it appeared fine. I wouldn't think the OS would factor in here (I am running XP rather than Mac), but stranger things have happened. --Holderca1 talk 21:18, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I-35 is fine, but like I said, so are the old revisions of I-10 and I-20 now too, so I have no clue what's going on. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if anything changes though. -- Kéiryn talk 21:25, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
It's definitely something to fix, not subst; if necessary, we can maybe make a version for Texas only and replace all the jct|state=TX calls with the new template. --NE2 02:41, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Or maybe split it into a separate article, like list of exits on Highway 401 (Ontario). --NE2 02:43, 31 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Another possibility would be to make separate articles for city portions like Interstate 20 in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex and Katy Freeway. --NE2 06:19, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Requested merge edit

I propose that Interstate 20 Business (Abilene, Texas) should be merged with its subsection in the "Business routes" section of this article and replaced by a redirect. Fortguy (talk) 23:05, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Article merged after more than a week with no objections. Fortguy (talk) 19:10, 20 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
