So where did the term "Interpretive Center" originate? I'm asking because I'd never heard it before my tour in the US in 2013. I'd be surprised if it has been around as long as the 1980s for example. To me it has the flavor of stemming from some school of thought, maybe a seminal publication in the field of education concerned with science-center design in the early 21st Century? Is there a certain pattern or concept which distinguishes an "interpretive center for xy" from a mere "xy museum"? --BjKa (talk) 15:18, 13 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
Given the spelling of this article it might have a Commonwealth origin, perhaps Canadian. It might be associated with Native American culture, and while the USA has more Native Americans in total, they are a somewhat larger share of the population in Canada. —Soap— 20:55, 29 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
