I love this article. It is good advice for a professional. Some people are just negative. They need this advice the most. That's how it usually is in life though, the ones that need it the most don't want to learn or listen. It takes time to change and become a better person. In the world we live in today it's all about the service and if you don't know how to treat people right you may find yourself unemployed and not very well liked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.125.2.115 (talk) 20:47, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bad Advice edit

I would like to meet the person who wrote the tips for this article and see how they make out in real world situations with these techniques. In reality many of the tips listed are actually the opposite of what a successful interpersonal navigator will use as tools. Obviously it is not that simple though, the social strategies used are infinitely complex and appear illogical if peered into.

To see what I mean think of all the people you know who seem to be very well liked and popular. They aren't often anything like the traits listed here. The key is that they aren't blatant about it. Someone who has good interpersonal skills will gossip for example, they just do it in a very covert manner and hedge their risk.

There is many counter intuitive examples like this but they are complex. The strategies used are abstracted from normal logic and only work because humans are choice making creatures.

This whole article should just be deleted pretty much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rukaribe (talkcontribs) 04:56, 22 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

people skills too not just social skills edit

There's now a third very similar article, people skills. I could check, but i bet it appeared after the decision to merge w social skills last april.198.189.194.129 (talk) 02:15, 17 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

No, I was wrong, people skills has been around since 2009.198.189.194.129 (talk) 02:17, 17 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

proposed deletion; agreement to merge was reached; has any action been taken? --ProfPolySci45 (talk) 05:07, 22 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

doesn't seem like any action has been taken. And, 3(or more?) articles on same topic, resembling business motivational session literature rather than encyclopedia articles, makes wikipedia look like a second rate marketing website.-Rich Peterson198.189.194.129 (talk) 21:30, 22 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
