"Impact on environment" section

The two sentences in the second paragraph of this section should in fact be a single sentence and separated by a comma, with an additional comma before the footnote reference [131]. This is because 'While' introduces a subordinate clause, not a main clause, and a subordinate clause must be accompanied by a main clause in the same sentence. But this would turn the whole paragraph into a very long, hard-to-read sentence. So I suggest that 'While' be removed, the full stop after 'social policy' be left in place, and the next sentence begin with 'However, some experts...' (the suggested comma before the footnote reference would also make the first sentence easier to read). Finally, the comma after 'seed funds' in the second sentence should be removed, as it separates the verb 'did not go' from its subject 'proposals'. This is not nitpicking, but simply a matter of correct English syntax, and ease of reading!213.127.210.95 (talk) 13:28, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

Questions and comments

1. [Christine Lagarde] "was re-elected by consensus for a second five-year term, starting 5 July 2016, being the only candidate nominated for the post of Managing Director."

a. How many times can you be reelected?

b. Only candidate? It's fantastic when you want a job and there is 0 competition.

2. "Charles Derber argues in his book People Before Profit, "These interacting institutions create a new global power system where sovereignty is globalized, taking power and constitutional authority away from nations and giving it to global markets and international bodies.""

I find it a very fair and accurate assessment.

3. "The current—as of early 2006—trend ..."

This information is 14-year old. It's about time to update.

4. The article has a section called "conditionality" but it's not defined (as far as I can see).

5. "Stiglitz concludes, "Modern high-tech warfare is designed to remove physical contact: dropping bombs from 50,000 feet ensures that one does not 'feel' what one does. Modern economic management is similar: from one's luxury hotel, one can callously impose policies about which one would think twice if one knew the people whose lives one was destroying.""

This sound to me like nonsense.

6. "The researchers Eric Toussaint and Damien Millet argue that the IMF 's policies amount to a new form of colonization that does not need a military presence".

This is a good statement.

Andorra join IMF

I inform that Andorra is already part of MFIs. I say this especially in case someone might modify the membership maps or similar. (Sources)--KajenCAT (talk) 17:10, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
