Requested move 14 May 2016
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: not moved. There is a consensus that the proposed title is operational shorthand, and not suitable for the title of an encylopaedia article. (non-admin closure) RGloucester — ☎ 22:28, 29 May 2016 (UTC)
International Charter on Space and Major Disasters → International Charter Space and Major Disasters – No "on" in title of Charter. kencf0618 (talk) 20:08, 14 May 2016 (UTC) --Relisted. Anarchyte (work | talk) 11:34, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose - the actual title of the charter is "Charter On Cooperation To Achieve The Coordinated Use Of Space Facilities In The Event Of Natural Or Technological Disasters" [1]. The phrase "International Charter 'Space and Major Disasters'" is used as a shortname in some documents and on the organization's webpages (with and without the single quotes around 'Space and Major Disasters'). The current article title: "International Charter on Space and Major Disasters" is used as well in RS independent of the organization. I think it is grammatically prudent to leave the "on" in the title. --Mike Cline (talk) 14:57, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose per Mike Cline. The proposed title makes no sense. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:50, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

Request to update page
editHi All
I am requesting permission to update this page so that the content is inline with the German and French versions (I did not edit them). I have been asked to do this a favour for the Charter itself purely because I am already an (infrequently) editor on Wikipedia, I am not paid by the Charter. I do not see this as a conflict of interests because all I am doing is an English translation of information which is already on other versions of this page, thus making Wikipedia consistent.
Please let me know if this is possible (my previous efforts to edit the page have been reverted by another editor).
Thanks, WebSanny

- The English version seems to be much more fully referenced than either the French or the German version. In general there is no attempt to make different language versions consistent; each is self-governing, and they have different policies, guidelines, and standards. If one were to wish to make the articles more consistent, it would be sensible to make the others more consistent with the best. --David Biddulph (talk) 13:12, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
