It is suggested that the external link to UITV.INFO (http://uitv.info/) is replaced-back. The web site is a useful portal to academic resources (news, theses, articles, conferences) about interactive TV. Moreover, the web site has been maintained by academics who are experts in interactive digital television (numerous journal articles and book publications). Finally, UITV.INFO reflects the opinions and knowledge of the respective academic area, which is much more wide that the (industry-based) description provided in the current article. We should also consider revising the text of the wikipedia entry accordingly, so that it reflects state-of-the-art knowledge (to-do soon). "edited by konstantinos chorianopoulos"

ITV

I removed: "It is sometime called interactive TV, iTV, idTV or ITV (not to be confused with the British Independent Television network)."

This is because ITV, as rights owners of the trademark ITV, have complained. If it can be reliably sourced to prominent independent sources, it can go back in, but not until then, please. Suggesting removal of Michael McCarty paragraph

The paragraph regarding Michael McCarty seems more like a personal promotion than anything worthy of Wikipedia. Phrases like "...individual ... to radically disrupt ... Founder and CEO of a new wave of ... products ... hitting the market in early 2013" read more like ad copy than an encyclopedic entry. Except for the name dropping, the paragraph also contains little actual information. It is neither mentioned what company he is a CEO of, not what products he was going to bring to the market. In addition, "early 2013" has gone and we probably should have noticed if the market had been "radically disrupted" by then. More formally, and presumably more important regarding Wikipedia guidelines the whole paragraph, including the quote from a presentation, has no citations or other references. (And a quick search only found the quote in various pages copied from this Wikipedia page.) Interactive Television Standards

This article (Interactive television) is redirected from Interactive Television Standards but then again there is an existing article called Interactive television standards?! Similar conflict between this article (Interactive television) and Interactive Television!

And none of these articles mention the two major ongoing industry projects: Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV and Project Canvas. I hope somebody would be ready to fix all this? And I would also consider if this article (Interactive television) should not rather be a television than a telecommunications project?

TV on/off, volume, changing channels

Such actions are surely nothing like the interactivity which the term suggests. A TV you can turn on and off isn't an interactive TV. The term is surely only meaningful if you can send messages to the content-provider.
