To answer my own question, I just consulted the cited source which says "The gorgets or breastplates captured with the British officers on this occasion, were worn in 1824 by William J Leiper and John Lardner[...]" Gorget is the correct term for this bit of kit, so I've changed the wording in the article accordingly Chuntuk (talk) 13:32, 15 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
