{{Infobox government agency}} in lieu of {{infobox military unit}} edit

So, with this edit of mine, I removed {{infobox military unit}} and replaced it with {{infobox government agency}}, as—in my opinion—Integrated Defence Staff is an agency and not a military command or unit. Thoughts? Regards, SshibumXZ (talk · contribs). 20:58, 13 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Seems like a reasonable change to call it a government agency. According to the website, IDS oversees Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations, bilateral and multilateral Joint Exercises with the Defence Forces of other friendly foreign countries (FFCs) and is a nodal agency in all matters of Joint Training in HQ IDS... but all this doesn't make them a military unit I guess. DiplomatTesterMan, the Integrated Defence Staff's main role is coordination and assistance, so, I think, that makes it a watered down version of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States (they have unified commands and sub-commands, we have commands for individual services), so, {{infobox government agency}} would be better off here, in my view, you are, of course, free to disagree with that. SshibumXZ We are saying the same thing :D. Yes, infobox government agency is more suitable. DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 17:40, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

DYK hook edit

So, I am thinking of nominating this article for did you know, but, I think I am coming up short on relevant and interesting hooks. Do you people have any hoook suggestions? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, it goes without saying that—as this is a collaboration—any nomination would have the mention of all contributors to this article, so, that all contributors can receive praise and recognition for their Wikipedia work. Regards, SshibumXZ (talk · contribs). 21:03, 13 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Again pinging all contributors to this article; sorry! @Sarvatra:, @DiplomatTesterMan: and @Adamgerber80: Regards, SshibumXZ (talk · contribs). 21:03, 13 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Did you know...
  • ...that the Integrated Defence Staff leads the goal to form a 'Defence Cyber Agency' and a 'Defence Space Agency' in India?
  • ...that the term 'Purple Fraternity' is applied to the ranks of the Integrated Defence Staff in India, where purple is the colour of jointmanship?

Rephrasing,
Did you know...
  • ...that India's goal to form a 'Defence Cyber Agency' and a 'Defence Space Agency' is led by the Integrated Defence Staff.
Maybe only Space agency can be mentioned, and cyber left out. DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 18:08, 14 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
DiplomatTesterMan, thank you! And yeah, these look good; will shortly nominate this article for did you know. Regards, SshibumXZ (talk · contribs). 20:52, 14 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

@SshibumXZ: Hey, what happened to the DYK? :D DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 10:37, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

DiplomatTesterMan, oh right, I completely forgot about that! If you want, you can nominate it, or shall I? Either way, I think the article would just about make the deadline for DYK nominations. Regards, SshibumXZ (talk · contribs). 16:06, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
SshibumXZ I checked DYK criteria again, seven days is the limit. So it's been more than that. Nevermind I guess. Regards DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 17:47, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

I think it is late now, but the DYK could even have simply been something like, DYK... that the IDS is a tri-service defence organisation in India? Even the motto for IDS... "victory through jointness" would have been a good DYK. Anyway. DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 12:51, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
