Issues

edit

Issues notices were removed as follows:

  • Advertising
'Self-promotion' through excessive use of Primary Sources is now much reduced. Arfisk (talk) 01:49, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Notability
The number and quality of independent citations now in place should be enough to establish notability. Arfisk (talk) 01:49, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Primary Sources
Citations from IFTF site and associated staff member have been replaced, where possible. One exception to this is in the discussion of the various IFTF reports. The problem is that, while the reports are widely cited, it is for their content rather than their format/intention. Arfisk (talk) 01:49, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Work

edit

Removed, pending better citations:

The clients of these programs are primarily Fortune 500 companies. When the Institute was founded in 1968, the founders had envisioned working with governments, but over the years Institute clients have included many large companies, along with nonprofits, foundations, and local, state and national governments. In recent years, its work has become increasingly international, and included proprietary tools for collaborative forecasting.[1]

Leadership

  • Build up history of presidencies, and activities at that time. We have*:
  • Frank Davidson (1968-70, according to iftf)
  • Olaf Helmer (1970, according to iftf)
  • Roy Amara (President: 1969-91... 1971-90, according to iftf),
  • Ian Morrison (Emeritus Pres.: 1996-99 Pres: 1990-96, according to iftf) ref: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/20/opinion/is-it-better-to-die-in-america-or-in-england.html?_r=0
  • Bob Johansen (President: 1996-2004, according to iftf),
  • Peter Banks (2004-06, according to iftf)
  • Marina Gorbis (Executive Director: 2006-, according to iftf) 1998, date joined?
*NB: Much of this is sourced from IFTF's own history chart which, while a useful pointer, is not an admissible Article reference (possibly for detail?). http://www.iftf.org/fileadmin/user_upload/images/whoweare/iftf_history_lg.gif Arfisk (talk) 03:11, 18 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
