Added more about organization - sponsors annual conference on health literacy for 8 years; developed bilingual advanced directives for free download in use in California. More on website to be added later including H.E.L.P. (Health Education Literacy Program) Curriculum funded through an English literacy and civics education grant from the Louisiana State Department of Education. Please do not confuse nobility for notability. These are two very different concepts. From the article, it looks like this organization only operates at a local level. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 23:29, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
As noted above, the health literacy conference is attended by professionals from university medical centers, CDC, medical plans, and internationally; it is has been promoting health literacy for 8 years, see the PDF files on the conference page. The bilingual advanced directives are used by biligual patients throughout the state of California and may be used nationally, the H.E.L.P. curriculum was funded by Louisiana for use in Louisiana as well as nationally, they published easy-to-read 'What to Do For Health' books, used by the states of California and S. Dakota, health plans, Head Starts, health departments, and more; these books help reduce emergency room visits and costs. There is more on their website. Their impact on health literacy goes beyond the "local level". Petersam (talk) 23:55, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Surely, then, you can find some reliable third-party sources attesting to the organization's notability. -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 00:01, 11 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
See the Health Literarcy Conference page http://www.iha4health.org/default.aspx/MenuItemID/190/MenuGroup/_Home.htm and view the brochure, agenda as well as Abstracts from the Poster Session for the credentials of speakers and attenders. also, http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS234996+07-May-2009+MW20090507 http://www.emailwire.com/release/13267-Health-Publication-Wins-2008-Institute-for-Healthcare-Advancement-Health-Literacy-Award-for-UC-Berkeley-.html http://www.aetna.com/news/newsReleases/2008/0506.html I hope this meets to your satisfaction. I was not planning on developing this article, just make it a stub based on its website and review of its bilingual advance directive. Petersam (talk) 00:21, 11 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
