Infrared Detector cards

edit

A subsection should probably be added that discusses infrared sensitive phosphor coated paper cards, which can be used to make infrared radiation visible. These work by charging the phosphor under a UV or visible light source. The phosphor holds the stored light energy, and then, when exposed to infrared energy, the phosphor dumps the stored light energy as visible wavelengths. Here's one retail source of such cards:

Amorphous silicon

edit

Amorphous silicon (a-Si) should be added as an alternative material for uncooled detectors.
