Proposal: Change caption on first image to be "Type C" edit

The first image depicts a Type C pattern, but has been labeled as Type A. It would be accurate to note that the imagery on the trumps in playing cards of this type can exhibit variability beyond the three basic archetypes of "Type A," "Type B," "Type C" (particularly when considering different card manufacturers and different dates of production). With that said, the first image seems to be an entirely standard set of Type C artwork.

Two specific points in support of this contention: (1) the imagery on the trump XXI matches the Type C example pictured elsewhere in this article, and differs entirely from the Type A example; (2) the imagery on the trumps generally does not conform to the composition as described by the International Playing Card Society (https://i-p-c-s.org/pattern/ps-14.html), for example trump IIII does not depict a rider on horseback as per the IPCS link. 24.163.64.168 (talk) 22:36, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for pointing that out - I've corrected the caption. If you're able to add information on the variations within the types - and I notice that the Type B by Modiano is slightly different from that by Piatnik - then do go ahead. Bermicourt (talk) 20:12, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
